I have ALWAYS had a passion for living an active and healthy life and have always been an avid runner. As the mother of 4 kids and 8 grandkids staying active is a must!
Running keeps me sane!!
My guilty pleasure.. Hhmm… That’s probably watching reality TV. I’m not picky I check them all out, from the Duggars to Total Divas!
I have to say my most FAV event would be sky diving!Done it once and I’m totally hooked and
ready to go again!
I have done numerous half marathons but this year I would like to do a full marathon. I have trained twice but never made it to the start line.
My favorite snack? A handful of nuts, seeds
(almonds, walnuts, pumpkin) right after a w/o helps keep hunger away and dried seaweed and kale are delish!
My motivation to working out is that feeling of accomplishment when you’re done!! There’s no better high!! Love it!

unnamedHi, my name is Mike Wallace I am originally from Georgia and relocated here to be closer to family.  I joined the U.S Airforce when I was 18 as a Firefighter In Destin, FL.  After serving 6 years and  doing a tour in Afghanistan I got out of the military and moved to Justin, TX. I joined the Fieldhouse in 2012 when I was in the worst shape of my life..beer gut and everything!  The Fieldhouse is where I fell in love with fitness and decided I wanted to be a trainer.  The staff is amazing and its really one of those gyms where everybody knows everybody. So after I graduated college I went to personal training school and was certified through NPTI and NASM.

What motivates me to be active or healthy

It’s very important for me to stay in great shape and maintain good eating habits.  I live by example.

My guilty pleasure

I think one of the biggest guilty pleasures I have is fried food…Ill eat anything if its fried! But I keep those to my cheat days now.

Favorite Event/Workout Completed

One of my biggest accomplishments is probably completing a Tough Mudder.  I love the team work that goes into it and the camaraderie of it.

Something I plan to accomplish in 2015

Something I plan to accomplish in 2015 is getting my Fitness Nutrition Specialist Cert through NASM.

Favorite healthy food or snack

I’m all about eating healthy! My favorite healthy snack would probably be pita bread and hummus and sushi..its good and good FOR you;)National

2014-12-08_14-50-51

I have a Bachelors in art and Business but have been a full time mom of my 5 kids for the past almost 12 years. I initially became interested in the fitness world during my first high school job working at the front desk at our local gym. My favorite was group fitness classes because I’m driven by being around other people. I took classes for years and got talked into teaching when we lost a Group Fitness teacher at the gym I attended. I never thought I wanted to teach but fell in love with the opportunity I had to everyday motivate, inspire, and interact with really great people. I became certified in Spinning and Kickboxing and also taught different strength training classes and boot camps at the World Gym in Idaho where I worked for the past 5 years before moving to Texas.

Guilty pleasure

Any kind of really good food, and chocolate….ok pretty much anything I can put in my mouth. I love to eat, and I can eat A LOT.

Favorite workout

I haven’t really ventured into the world of races yet, it’s a little intimidating to me but I love strength work outs and kickboxing and cycling….Ok it’s hard to pick. I’ve never had tons of endurance but have been more of a sprinter/ power type of person.

2015-I’ve got to run my first race sometime this year and lose the rest of my baby fat.

Favorite healthy food

I love any combination of avacados, quinoa, cilantro & peppers.

Motivation

Good music with my work outs makes me feel like I’m dancing and just having fun. I love it when the beat pushes me go faster or harder.

Group Fitness Instructor

What motivates you to be active/healthy or “why I run”

My motivation to be fit has changed drastically over the years. What once was a quest for the ideal swimsuit body has evolved into being the healthiest mother, wife and role model that I can be. The fountain of youth is not found in a bottle!

Guilty pleasure, ie: certain food, tv show, trash novel. shopping, etc

Hmm, I have to admit, I love to eat chocolate and watch the Biggest Loser.

Favorite workout or event you have completed

Any run with my favorite running partner, my daughter.

Something you plan to accomplish in 2015

Learn to swim properly.

favorite healthy food or snack

Cuties and raw almonds

How do you motivate yourself to run or workout

I always have a plan when I exercise. I set an attainable goal and I don’t stop until I complete it.  I love my headphones, any upbeat music will do the trick.
